First, let me say I would NEVER, EVER have walked into a facility like this in my life. My idea of exercise is walking with a friend. My military daughter needed a place to stay in shape while she was home. After a week, she begged me to come with her. I did so, really just to spend time with her and have a shared interest. After a month, she was gone back to the military and I have been going to Clarkston Fitness for three years and counting. I have NEVER stuck to anything like I have this. Currently, I am the oldest female at the gym. Why do I love Clarkston Fitness? -I feel 10 years younger. -I am stronger. -I am healthier. -The people here care about me. -Scott (the owner) is committed to my personal growth. – Scott coaches me (and everyone else) to my personal best. – Scott coaches me (and everyone else) to avoid injury. -For me working out is a social event. In each group there are teens to mature adults. It is great to workout in a diverse group with the common goal of staying fit. -It is like having a personal trainer and the social aspect of a class. -More mobility. -I have lost 13 pounds without any change in my diet. -The bottom line is Scott at Clarkston Fitness is great. Come in and meet with him one on one. Come into a class. Look for me if it’s 8:30 am. Don’t wait. It will surprise you, like it did me, how much better you feel. PS. When I started I could not squat and ofter had to use a PVC pipe instead of a bar. Scott helped me modify any activity. Forever grateful to my daughter for pulling me in and Scott for keeping me coming. Your healthy you is waiting for you to do it.

It has also made me mentally tougher and improved my work ethic not only at the box but at work and in my personal life. It always has a way of keeping one humble and motivated.
It has also allowed me to branch out and meet incredible people. I have made so many new friends since joining Clarkston Fitness, not always the easiest thing as people get older. This is just as important to me as the physical gains I’ve made.
Clarkston Fitness allows me to escape a crappy day, share a good day, relieve stress all while getting an incredible workout.

Scott Vogt greeted me on my very first day, and ever since then he has not only been a reliable coach who helps me progress physically, but has become a very cherished friend. Through my injury, Scott knew it was hard for me to workout, but he would contact me and tell me to get to the gym because he wanted to help; he held me accountable, and by trusting him and his efforts of motivation, I was able to push through the pain and progress more than I could have on my own. Scott’s patience and drive to make every member better is what keeps me coming back.

This all came in very handy when my doctor decided that my genetic back problems needed to be addressed with surgery. After two incredibly complicated procedures I began the long recovery process. I was able to recover at a much faster pace than anyone expected. The doctors said that this was mainly due to the fact that I was strong and in the best shape of my life.
I am so thankful for the great programming and all of the support I have gotten from Scott and everyone else at CF. It has had a huge impact on my life in every way and I am so glad to be part of that great group of people.
